Boccia is a Paralympic game played by people with high restriction mobility, especially people who don't play other games like Wheelchair Cricket, Wheelchair Basketball or those games.

This game is especially designed that any people, with any high restriction, they can easily play, they can even kick the ball or use a mouth stick or head pointer.

So this game gives more joys for many kinds of people with disabilities, especially who have limited powers, hand functions and those who are completely on a wheelchair.

Boccia is an international game which comes under BISFED and in India Boccia Sports Federation of India conducts National Level Tournaments through which many players from different parts of the country participates in it.

Hi, I am Rajiv Rajan.

I have been working in the disability sector for the past 30 years.

When I was young, I never got a chance to play any sport.

So when I came to know about this game of Boccia I thought, “Okay, let’s, let’s try it out, let’s, let’s try it out”

Then we started the game in the year, 2016

And we have conducted many tournaments including one National level tournament of that.

I hope that we will be able to reach out to more players through the game.

We through Ektha have been training for this Boccia game from 2016 onwards and we have been sending players for National level games where they already won medals in 2019 and 2024.

Our ultimate aim is to send, train and send more and more players to the National and International levels, wherein they will get a new hope and new dimension of their living.

Apart from my routine life, Boccia has given me a new dimension, wherein a interest to create, to travel often and meet more number of people.

And through this sports I have learned many things, from disability, from the sports or activism or accessibility, different things.

Like me, for many people, uh sports is making a different dimension, in creating their own life and upgrading them to reach out to different kinds of achievements.

I feel uh that is one of the improvements of their life, through sports we can do it.
