Manjula Behen is our patient, she has cervical spondylosis.
Praveen bhai, our therapist, is currently giving her treatment.
Three therapies have been combined into one, known as the Japanese Medical Medieval Therapy (JMMT).
It is a blend of Acupressure, Amma massage and Shiatsu.
It is a completely dry therapy where we do not have to remove our clothes.
A cotton cloth, called tenugui in Japanese, is placed on the body of the person receiving the massage therapy.
JMMT works on a specific region of the body.
For example, if you choose the calf muscle, the therapy will be performed there; if you choose the shoulder, the massage will be given only on the shoulder.
It is a combination of three therapies, with acupressure as the main base, followed by Amma massage and Shiatsu.
Amma massage is a traditional Japanese technique, similar to how we have oil massage in India.
It involves methods like circular motions and pumping techniques.
Shiatsu is a Chinese technique that includes a mix of finger rocking and thumb rocking movements.
