Hi, I’m Brinda and he is Mehul, we are from Multiply Lifestyle Private Limited.

We are a startup based out of Bangalore, making inclusive or adaptive garments for persons with disability, for senior citizens and patients who require assistance in wearing the garments.

We work with uh persons with disability, either locomotive disability or developmental disabilities, people on autism spectrum disorder and all kind of uh disabilities.

The question how we started, so I have a fashion background, it’s about 25 years and she’s into uh developmental sector and into disability space for 10 years.

Uh when we, uh at this particular juncture, a year back, when we realized that India is a big market and there are people with disabilities and we, being a fashion technologist and into fashion industry, uh I believe that we have missed out this, important part of our population and we have totally ignored them.

And that’s where uh, on Brinda’s insistence, we started looking for NGOs where, you know, connecting with them, taking feedback, you know, what is missing in terms of, uh you know, in disability space, in terms of fashion.

And we realized that it is functionality, uh dignity and again aesthetics, which is missing when it’s about fashion or apparels for them.

Uh then we started uh interacting again going back to the uh board.

We started jotting down what all are the disabilities across uh, you know, the space and then uh looking at each one of them uh we started with our first product and it was for autism.

We made Freedom pants for autistic uh young adult and then we moved to ostomy.

We made an innerwear for ostomy patients and then we moved to locomotor disability.

We started with pants for people on wheelchair, mainly requiring the intermittent catheterization and then looking and with the trials and then user’s feedback, we moved to a product which is uh the first in the world and it is meant for a spinal cord injury patient who carries a urine bag.

In fact, our product uh ensures that urine bag hides inside the trouser and it it provides them freedom and mobility and again, dignity as well.

Uh we received an award from the fashion fraternity for the particular product.

Uh we were awarded for the “Innovation for dignity”.

Uh so that’s how we are into this space.

We have made festive wear as, you know, she has already told.

There is always this question that “what should I wear when I am attending a marriage?”

Okay, so one of our friend, uh in an organization, he came to us that I want a product which can be done fast, okay, suits to me and the occasion and that’s how we develop festive wear for him and then since then we started making it for women’s wear as well.

So we have covered each and every disability.

We are right now in process of making product for visually impaired, okay.

We are in uh process of making product for incontinence as well, okay.

Uh so here we are uh, you know, presenting our uh products.

So when we look at uh, so compared to any other brand which is available, be it national level brand and I’ve been into those brands and a trouser can be compared with any national level brand which is available.

A trouser, the Eurocare ones uh which costs about 1,899 to 2,099, okay, and I think it’s at par with any normal pants.

We are retailing through our website, okay, its www.multifly.co.in okay, but our reach is basically, you know, we try to reach our beneficiaries through a network of NGOs and then rehab centers.

We also intend to hire persons with disability in our work.

We, from design to marketing to back end office work.

We also see them as our uh retail partners, so they can become the retailers outside and we supply them our inclusive garments in bulk and they become the face of the company, so that’s also our idea.

So it is fashion for persons with disability by persons with disability.
