Since its inauguration MOP has significantly raised awareness about assistive technology and attracted visitors from various fields. In addition to showcasing these devices, the museum serves as a meeting and research space for innovators and developers of assistive technology. It connects them with people who have specific needs, prompting creation of new assistive devices. Join us as we explore the Museum of Possibilities by watching this film!

Welcome to Museum of Possibilities.
Museum of Possibilities is a Government of Tamil Nadu initiative.
Vidyasagar was chosen to design, curate and manage it, and it’s a demonstration center of assistive technology.
Uh basically it’s a place for people with disabilities to come, try out assistive devices, see what works for them.
Uh, also the elderly can come and we have the vendor list, and whatever they want to buy, we can show them where to go to buy it.

So, this is the Plate Guard, fixing like this, to be able to, so, that the food does not come out, go outside.

But the other thing that we conceived also that all the innovators, all the people who are working on assistive…creating assistive devices, it would kind of also be a place, meeting place for them, a kind of a research place for them, because we do get a lot of people with disabilities who may have a specific need.
And then, you know, because we know who’s made what, we go back to the relevant person to say whether they can do that alteration, who can work it out for this person and so uh create another assistive device which works better for the person.
it was uh inaugurated by the chief minister, Mr. Stalin on 6th June of 2022, and what it’s really done is created a lot of awareness, especially among college and training institutions, like students from different professions, you know, physiotherapists, OT, speech therapists, nursing students, medical students, engineers.

Now attached to the museum is also the cafe, which our partners, Winners Bakery, one of the best in Chennai city, uh working on and…Winners Bakery also runs the Foundation for vocational training and so we also do a training program, vocational training program on bakery, confectionary and quick service restaurant.
