“Towards Inclusion” Card Game Kit

Our "Towards Inclusion", a fresh and incentive game kit on disability awareness was launched in 2020. Developed by Ms. Padma Shastry, Inclusive Education Specialist at Samam Vidya, and Ms. Ritika Sahni, Founder and Trustee of Trinayani, this 6-in-1 card game kit offers a playful yet impactful method to familiarize players with the world of persons with disabilities and promote positive attitude change. Stemming from three years of meticulous research, brainstorming, and pilot sessions involving different stakeholders across cities, this game kit comprises 6 engaging card games, a story-cum-workbook titled ‘I am Different. So are you’ and an answer booklet. The 6 card games are:

  • "Do You Know?", it is similar to Uno and helps players learn basic facts about disability.
  • "Inclusion Bingo" teaches players disability-related words.
  • "Surprise! Surprise!" challenges misconceptions about disability through a sorting game.
  • "Barriers Begone!" helps players recognize barriers faced by the disabled community and provide solutions to it.
  • "Say This! Not That!" teaches players the right language to use about disabilities.
  • And lastly, "Hear! Hear!" is a memory game with informative articles about disability.

True to our mission of creating awareness about diversity and inclusion and in keeping with the National Education Policy’s (NEP) assertion for the need of disability awareness in both teachers and students, we offer “Towards Inclusion” workshops for teachers in schools. Tailored for various stakeholders such as corporates, educational institutions or community events. Led by Disability Campaigner and Trainer Ms. Ritika Sahni, these workshops aim to deepen understanding to challenge biases and promote inclusivity.
